Looking for the most beautiful sunrise? A new Instagram survey by Premier Inn has just highlighted the most beautiful cities in France and in the world to wake up in. Based on the number of mentions of the hashtag #GoodmorningParis, the French capital is recognised as the most popular city in France. Paris is followed by Lyon and Nice.
With more than 22,500 mentions, the capital is a big hit with early morning Instagrammers who capture scenes in the early hours of the morning, in the parks scattered around the city or near famous monuments such as the Eiffel Tower, the Louvre Pyramid, or simply by looking out of their window.
Lyon and Nice neck and neck
For Lyon, many posts with the hashtag #GoodmorningLyon showcase the city's historic architecture. The capital of Gaul, which is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, is also the subject of some incredible shots taken on the banks of the Rhône.
The #GoodmorningNice posts, featuring the sunrise on the Côte d'Azur, photographed from the Promenade des Anglais, or at the hill of the Château, frequently make their way up the social network Instagram. Marseille and Lille complete the top 5 with 405 and 299 posts respectively under the city's hashtags.
